I couldn’t agree more. It is that free flow of ideas that sparks the imagination. I struggle with sharing my writing. I think all creative people fear criticism to some degree. But, if you don’t put it out there and hear what others think, how will you improve?

Your blog entry sparked something for me. I think of Picasso. He was a really prolific artist. He produced and produced. Everything he made was certainly not a great peice of art. But, if he wasn’t creating, the great artwork would never have happened.

Thank you for the push. I feel motivated!

I write what I want to see in the world. My stories are targeted to a world that I expected to see when I first read similar stories as a kid!

It’s great to hear you talk about the group this way; this is exactly what we want the writing group to be:-a safe, helpful resource.

Your second book will be fabulous; you have all the experience from the first to take you there. It’s all about “the journey”–so your first book, though not perfect, is just a stepping stone on your way to mastering this craft ( which can never be done, anyway!)

What inspires me? Knowing that there are others that had the courage to leave that same small rural community and take a different and beautiful path.
